dr-landman

Jan Otto Landman has worked as a doctor in Spain since 1996 . His practice is characterized by a very diverse patient base. During the winter months we see predominantly Northern European snowbirds, and in the summer season we see a boom in family tourism. Of course, Northern European residents at the Costa del Sol are a constant factor.

One of the outstanding features of the practice is Dr Landman’s  ability to give proper time and attention to each patient. The last thing you want whilst enjoying a holiday is to fall ill, but if you do, you want to ensure it is for as short a period as possible.

Since we are not bound by the restrictions of the health care system back home, and also have the ability to make quick referrals to specialists, we are able to offer a very efficient, specific  care to our patients.

LOCATIONS:

Dr. Landman has two practices on the Costa del Sol, and alternates between the two. Both practices have a walk-in policy, meaning that you can show up to whichever practice is most convenient for you.

His first practice is located in the lively La Carihuela, the old and popular fishing area of Torremolinos/Benalmádena and is close to  some major hotels and holiday apartments such as: Melia Pez Espada, Carihuela Park, Amaragua, Buensol, Timor Sol, Lago Rojo, RIU Nautilus, Triton, Scirocco, Hotel Al Andalus, Playa Miguel, Hotel Bajondillo, Puente Real, Hotel Puerto Marina, Sol Principe, Sol Don Pedro, Sol Don Pablo, Costa Lago, Best Hotels Benalmadena and others.

The second practice is located in Fuengirola at Clinica Xanit Fuengirola. This practice is in the vicinity of the well known hotels Pyr, Las Palmeras, Palm Beach, Jabega, Angela, Yaramar, Embajador and others.

NOTE:

If you find yourself on vacation with a tour operator or staying in a hotel and want to see a foreign and independent doctor who speaks English, you should be aware that many hotels (receptions) and travel companies have exclusive and lucrative contracts with specific hospitals. Because of this, they will only arrange for their foreign guests to be visited by doctors who are affiliated to the specific hospital.

This means that if you want to see a doctor of your own choice,  you  should visit him/her yourself or call with your own phone. Hotel and tour-operator staff will, regardless of whom you wish to see, generally always call a hospital affiliated doctor for you.

Due to the language and culture barrier, this will significantly increase your risk of high bills and/ or hospitalisation.
